How to reset Canon Pg-30 ink black cartridge

Each time the cartridge is removed from the printer an empty cartridge message appears and a blinking amber light will come on, on the printer.

To resolve this problem do the following:

Reset PG-30:

Holding the paper feed (or stop/reset) button down about 5 sec. (will allow you to override the counter)
The printer is ready to print again!
