Canon pg510 reset empty cartridge error

Hot to reset Canon PG-510 black ink printer

Each time the cartridge is removed from the printer an empty cartridge message appears and a blinking amber light will come on, on the printer.
To resolve do the following:
Holding the paper feed (or stop/reset) button down for 3-5 sec. (will allow you to override the counter)
The printer is ready to print again!

    I have Canon Pixma MP250, and I am trying to replace both ink cartridges. The previous ones are 510 and 511. The new ones (also Canon) are 210 and 211. None of these instructions on this website apply to this printer. No right arrow, no Idle message, etc.
    Please, can you supply instructions for this printer, MP 250? Thank you.

    Hi I have reset my canon. But nothing gets rid of the warning. using OSX and I think a software update mgith be the problem?

    I have Canon pixma 330 printer. Original black in 210 and color 211. I am usint it in India and inks available here are 510 and 511. I know they are compatible but machine does not accept it. can anyone help? Is there ay need to update drivers before using this ink?
